University of Kansas Hospital - Medical Office Building

Environmental Mechanical was selected for the mechanical/plumbing scope on this 200,000 square foot project, consisting of an addition with dedicated chiller and boiler plant.

The 6-story, $55 million medical office building, which houses 18 different clinical departments, is located south of the hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. 

The adjacent hospital remained 100% operational throughout the duration of construction.

The project, which was coordinated with BIM technology and completed in 2011, was designed to meet LEED certification; green features included energy performance optimization, thermal comfort controls and the use of recycled and locally manufactured materials.
