EMC Personnel Train on Aerial, Scissor and Fork Lifts

Over 65 EMC field, shop and service personnel completed training on aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and fork lifts over the week of June 7th at the company's shop headquarters in Olathe, Kansas.
To make sure that all workers were trained with minimal disruption to the jobs, the training was held in 3 sessions over a period of 3 days. The training which included classroom theory training and practical, hands-on instruction and practice, was led by Cory Rohs, EMC safety officer, and covered safety issues such as standard operating practices and fall protection.
Through this program EMC complied with OSHA requirements such as aerial lift training 29 CFR 1926.453, and forklift training 29 CFR 1910.178. This training is required once with re-evaluations every three years to maintain forklift training compliance.
Gene Darby, Field Operation Manager, coordinated the training. "We are 100% sure that our people are confident and OSHA compliant when operating these machines" said Darby. "This training provides safe methods of operation which will reduce the chance of injury and accidents, not only to the operator but to those working with or near the lift operator as well."
Completing this training qualifies participants for "Authorized Operator Certification" and ensures the safety of our employees, our equipment, and the reputation of both EMC and the companies that we work with.
