Rick Ellis

Senior Project Manager

Rick Ellis has 29 years of experience managing HVAC, process piping & plumbing installations and improvements, and joined EMC in January 2010 as a Senior Project Manager. 

He holds a BS in Construction Science from Kansas State University, has completed Advanced Courses at the MCAA Institute for Project Management, the Trane Air Conditioning Clinic and holds a Healthcare Contractor’s Certificate from ASHE. 

He began his career in 1981 as a welder and later an estimator, and in 1990 signed on as Project Manager for a mechanical contracting company heading up projects at Kansas City’s largest automotive plant and two of Kansas City’s major hospitals.   

Rick later served as Vice President responsible for plumbing and piping operations at a mechanical contracting company, managing numerous design/build projects at commercial, industrial and institutional facilities.  Most recently he was with a local construction company where he led numerous projects, which included cleanroom piping, sanitary and food grade piping, power plant instrumentation piping, high pressure hydraulic piping for turbine controls, stack drain installations and other projects.

As a member of ASHRAE, Rick has participated in various committees and on the Board of Governors.  He is also a Past Chapter President of Sigma Lambda Chi (Honor Society for Leaders in Construction) and a member of the Golden Key Honor Society.
